"Someday Susan Atkins,
convicted in the (named defendant) murder trial,
will be a good parole risk,
California's parole board chief says"

"He added,
                        ​I don't know when"

appointed to head the parole board by
Democratic Gov. (Name),
refuses to prejudge the Atkins and
(a former associate of Susan's) cases"

"Sources within the (named governor) administration
say they recognize parole for the two 
could be a political weapon for law and order challengers
to a (named governor) campaign
for a second term in 1978"

"Talking about Miss Atkins' case,
(name), chairman of the Community Release Board
that on July 1 merges the women's and men's
parole board said:
'It would be well for the public to realize
sooner or later almost everyone
will go back to the community on parole"
