​In Memory of Susan Denise Atkins-Whitehouse

The Dirt

After Susan and others were apprehended,
investigations ensued.
A detective in charge of an investigation was interviewed.

In a local news film clip, the detective
​is named in the interview.

Here are some of the answers the detective offered
in response to a reporter's questions;

Detective: "...Early this morning we received information that there was
              possibly a body or bodies up here, that there were mounds of dirt
              that indicated there were grave sites, or simulating burial sites, but,
              we ordered in a posse, asked for the posse, and the assistance of our
              Emergency Services Bureau. They've checked the area and all of the sites
​              that we found don't indicate anything like that"
 
 Reporter: "Were there similar diggings or holes at other (named defendant) family locations?"

Detective: "Yes, in Golar Wash there were burial sites like this that we actually thought
               at the time were bodies and upon digging them up they were nothing.
​               Very similar to what we have here..."             

 Reporter: "Sergeant, you've been to many of the family locations,
              how does this compare with some of the others?"

Detective: "I'd say this is a typical.....family.....hangout,
​              with the a, the dirt,
              the way the children are living, and I see no difference
              between here and Golar Wash or Spahn Ranch..."

             "...This is a general.....(named defendant)-type residence,
​                if you want to call it that..."​
