Who Are We To Argue
In Susan's works
The Dove's Nest Newsletters A Collection of Christian Newsletters
by Susan Atkins-Whitehouse,
Susan tells us later in her
34th Christian newsletter,
of January 2000,
after what we previously learned
earlier in this chapter,
that Susan has a lower back condition
she has been dealing with
for a number of years.
Susan tells us how it has inhibited her by
decreasing her mobility,
and causes a tremendous amount of pain.

Susan tells us she has been declared totally
medically disabled because of her condition.
Because of this,
Susan is no longer required to work a mandatory
state assigned job, which she says has been the cause
of much of the physical damage she's sustained over the years.
This allowed Susan more time to
tend to matters of greater urgency;
"...Thank you Jesus. I can now spend more time in His Word,
ministering to others in need, working on Bible studies
and helping to create programs
that will assist women in regaining their lives
from the ravages of drug and alcohol addiction.
So, as I enter into this new millennium with a
physical disability, I'm entering it with a fresh and
open ended ability to reach out with the Glorious good news
of Jesus Christ. I suppose that after working for the
Department of Corrections in a State assigned job for more than
25 years, I could consider this retirement.
However, as many of you know, Christians never retire from pressing
toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Until Jesus comes for His Church, I intend on being as active
as I can be in reaching the lost, and in helping others find
their place in the Body of Christ and their purpose in this life.
What a joy!"

Susan says that last year she had heard a very
powerful declaration of FAITH.
(Caps as in the book.)
Susan doesn't know who wrote it.
Susan says it is used at the Potter's House,
where the pastors there shared it with her.
Susan says she knows it is what she believes about herself.
Because it is so important to Susan,
we have included it here in its entirety;
powerful declaration of FAITH.

"I am a soldier in the army of my God.
The Lord Jesus Christ is my commanding officer.
The Holy Bible is my code of conduct.
Faith, prayer, and the Word are my weapons of warfare.
I have been taught by the Holy Spirit,
trained by experience, tried by adversity,
and tested by fire.
I am a volunteer in this army, and I am enlisted for eternity.
I will either retire in this army at the Rapture,
or die in this army: but I will not get out, sell out,
be talked out, or pushed out.
I am faithful, reliable, capable, and dependable.
If my God needs me, I am there.
If He needs me in the prisons,
He can use me because I am there!
I am a soldier. I am not a baby.
I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up,
pumped up, picked up, or pepped up.
I am a soldier. No one has to call me, remind me, write me,
visit me, entice me, or lure me.
I am a soldier. I am not a wimp. I am in place,
saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His Name,
and building His Kingdom!
No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards, candy,
or give me handouts. I do not need to be
cuddled, cradled, cared for, or catered to.

I am committed. I can not have my feelings hurt bad enough
to turn me around. I can not be discouraged enough to
turn me aside. I can not lose enough to cause me to quit.
When Jesus called me into this army, I had NOTHING.
If I end up with nothing, I will still come out ahead.
I will win. My God has, and will continue to supply all of my needs.
I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph.
I can do all the things through Christ.
Devils can not defeat me.
People can not disillusion me.
Weather can not weary me.
Sickness can not stop me.
Battles can not beat me. Money can not buy me.
Hell can not handle me.
I am a soldier. Even death can not destroy me.
For when my Commander calls me from this battlefield,
He will promote me to Captain and then allow me to rule with him.
I am a soldier in the army,
and I am marching, claiming victory.
I will not give up. I will not turn around.
I am a soldier marching heaven bound.
Here I stand.
WILL YOU STAND WITH ME?"

Susan signed off on her letter.
We're grateful to Susan for sharing it with us.
Susan knows it's what she believes about herself,

who are we to argue...
