​​In Memory of Susan Denise Atkins-Whitehouse

Hello Susan

Susan was diagnosed with brain cancer in March 2008.
Susan's husband tells us that
​a week after her final parole hearing in 2009,
he was visiting with Susan,
but she never opened her eyes or moved.

He tells us​ he had always prayed with Susan
since she was hospitalized.
On this day,
​ at the end of prayer,
Susan whispered "Amen".

Susan's husband tells us
​ this was the last word Susan ever spoke;

"Two weeks later Susan passed away
after spending the day with me.
She was surrounded by friends and people who loved her.

She looked very peaceful and content,
​and there was a hint of a smile on her face..."
