Susan tells us she was notified last month by the
Board of Prison Terms and Parole that she will be
appearing before them...
"I was notified last month that I will be appearing
before the Board of Prison Terms and Parole on
December 28, 2000, at 1 pm.
I sincerely want to thank
everyone for writing so many wonderful letters of support
to the parole board, and for their belief in my suitability.
I also would appreciate
your prayers between now and then,
as the Holy Spirit leads you,
for that day's appearance"
Susan and her husband
prepare for her hearing...
"James and I have been working diligently to prepare
to present my current suitability status to the Board.
We have committed the appearance, our preparation and the
outcome of the appearance into the Lord's able hands.
We are standing on the Word of God, walking in love,
and releasing our faith for the will of God
concerning my release from prison to come forth.
It's at times such as these,
when an important event is about to occur,
that the temptation to become anxious arises..."

Times such as these, as Susan tells us,
would make anyone anxious.
But 'anxious',
where Susan is concerned,
brings new meaning.
We cannot fathom the intensity of Susan's anxiety,
not after all those years;
and Susan wouldn't want us to.
No one can know what that was like for Susan,
except Susan.
We are learning the strength of Susan's spirit...
Susan says the Word of God
tells her to be careful for nothing...
"...but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be known to God. And the peace of God,
which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7.
I love the way that verse reads in the Amplified Bible.

"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything,
but in every circumstance and in everything,
by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving,
continue to make your wants known to God.
And God's peace [that tranquil state of soul assured of its salvation
through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God,
and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is]
which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard
over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus"
"Isn't that powerful? Praise God.
What a mainstay those verses are.
Whether one is facing 31 years of incarceration,
or whether one is facing a terminal illness, or bankruptcy,
or the need for a job, or money for a car,
food, clothes, it doesn't matter what one's
present situation is, the Word of God tells us
we are not to be anxious,
but with prayer and thanksgiving, let God know
what we have need of, specifically, and He will grant
us His peace, His assurance of His ability to care for
every minute detail in our lives"
